Information forms
Before we define each class of information and on this base proceed to an analysis of the types, kinds and subkinds of information, let’s consider the forms that any kind of information can take.
Information can be in direct form (in the form of information), in the form of metainformations, in the form of meta-metainformation (second-order metainformation) and etc. Let me explain with examples. Let’s take information about the hotel that is familiar to many people, which we look for when we are going on vacation. The description of the hotel presented on the website, say, booking.com is information. The information presented in the reviews is metainformation, i.e. the information obtained as a result of comparing information on the website and what (information) people encountered in reality (information). Having visited this hotel, you will have your own impressions (information)which you can compare with the reviews you have read (metainformation) and as a result receive second-order metainformation or meta-metainformation. This series can be continued.
Thus, metainformation is information obtained as a result of comparing informations just as meta-metainformation is the result of comparing metainformation and information or other metainformation. Consequently, any class, type, kind or subkind of information can take the following forms:
-
Information;
-
Metainformation;
-
Meta-metainformation;
-
………………………..;
-
Xth order metainformation.
For example, everything you will write comparing these photos will be Metainformation.
